North Bay Railway Scarborough

Yorkshire

Since 1931, this wonderful 20 inch gauge railway has been thrilling folk along the seaside in super Scarborough.

Nestled in the idyllic, paradisiacal Peasholm Park on the edge of the town centre, diesel and steam locomotives take you on a 30-minute ride of nostalgia and happiness around the picturesque Northstead Manor Gardens with views of Scarborough Open Air Theatre before running alongside the beautiful North Bay to Scarborough Sealife Centre, where maritime magic comes to life!

It’s an all-weather attraction, with semi-open carriages and roofs, whilst the trains are also wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly! The railway also provides the most convenient link to the Sealife Centre. It’s also situated close to the 840 and 843 Coastliner bus stops which serve Scarborough, Whitby and York and the Great Scenic Journeys Scarborough open top bus tour (where customers can enjoy a 10% discount if they show their North Bay railway ticket! Or, if you have an open top bus ticket, you can enjoy 10% off on the railway!

There’s so much to see and do, with the Skytrail in Peasholm Park providing magnificent views over Northstead Manor Gardens – an ideal aerial trek for adults and kids, as well as the historic water chute, topped off with delicious snacks and soft scoop ice cream at the delightful Sidings Snack Shack!

Children can also grab a free copy of Percy the Cat’s activity sheet, spotting landmarks along the way! This really is a treat of a trip out that will leave you purring with satisfaction and fab memories!
