About:

Ewood Park is one of the most atmospheric of football grounds in the UK and home to Blackburn Rovers.

The Club was founded in 1875 and boasts a rich and storied history in English football. Initially formed as a football club for the employees of the Blackburn-based mill, Rovers quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the founding members of the Football League in 1888.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Blackburn Rovers enjoyed a period of dominance, winning the Football League title on three occasions and lifting the FA Cup six times, including three consecutive victories from 1884 to 1886. The club’s success continued into the early 20th century, culminating in their most recent top-flight title in 1995, under the management of Kenny Dalglish.

Ewood Park opened its gates in 1882. Originally a cricket ground, it was converted into a football stadium in 1884. The venue witnessed significant moments in Rovers’ history, including their FA Cup triumphs in 1884, 1885, and 1886. Ewood Park became an all-seater stadium in the 1990s, with renovations and expansions over the years to accommodate growing crowds. It has hosted various international matches and concerts. The stadium stands as a symbol of the club’s rich heritage and enduring presence in English football.
