And then it’s a short walk over to Warrington Town Hall to see the ornate Golden Gates, take a quick selfie, then breathe for a moment in Bank Park behind the hall before heading to Warrington Bus Interchange for your bus.

Now enjoy a languid wander round the village centre’s boutiques, bakeries and delis. Walk over to Alexandra Park for some quiet green space and people-watching, or stroll down towards the Bridgewater Canal for a short waterside walk. If you’ve got any time left, pop into a deli or wine shop to grab something for later.

Enjoy a pint at The George & Dragon, a classic village pub that also serves breakfast and coffee, then wander Great Budworth’s main street with its red-brick and timber cottages, old pump house and cobbled feel that gets it called one of Cheshire’s prettiest villages. Check out St Mary and All Saints Church, which is huge for somewhere this small.

There’s some fab pubs to be enjoyed during the evening, or maybe a bit of bingo or a show at the famous Parr Hall theatre – possibly a taste of the many tribute bands, perhaps it’s Panto as the season gets into full swing (‘Beauty and the Beast’ it is for this year!). If a night of music or culture isn’t for you, then there’s plenty of fantastic eateries across this majestic town just waiting to be enjoyed! It’s been a brilliant day and time to wind down and paws for thought, reflecting on a fab scenic sojourn on the CAT 9/9A!
