About Tir Prince Raceway

Tir Prince Raceway is a popular harness racing venue on the North Wales coast at Towyn, near Abergele. Trotting races, run by drivers seated in lightweight two-wheeled sulkies behind Standardbred horses, take place on a floodlit oval throughout the summer season, drawing crowds from across Wales, the north of England and Ireland.

Race meetings have a friendly, family-orientated atmosphere, with grandstand seating, betting facilities, bars and catering on site. The venue is one of the principal centres for the sport in the United Kingdom, regularly hosting major fixtures including championship and pace finals that attract leading owners, trainers and drivers.

Tir Prince sits within a wider leisure complex that also includes a funfair and amusements, making it a convenient stop for holidaymakers staying along the Towyn and Pensarn caravan coast. With the beach, the resort attractions of Rhyl, and the seaside town of Abergele all close by, a visit can easily be combined with a wider day out on the North Wales coast.
