Theatr Clwyd, Mold

Theatr Clwyd is the principal theatre for North Wales, based in Mold since 1976. It operates as both a producing theatre and a touring venue, staging between 10 and 15 productions a year including new plays, contemporary adaptations, musicals, dance and comedy. The theatre has developed a strong reputation for ambitious work, particularly new writing and collaborations with other venues and companies.

The main auditorium seats around 485 people and is the setting for the in-house productions and major touring shows. The venue also runs a smaller studio space for experimental and community work. Beyond the main stages, Theatr Clwyd hosts a gallery and offers backstage tours. It's genuinely embedded in Welsh cultural life and worth checking the programme ahead of a visit to see what's on.
