Rhos-on-Sea

Rhos-on-Sea is a small, genteel seaside village on the North Wales coast, sitting between the larger resorts of Colwyn Bay and Llandudno. Its sheltered promenade curves gently around a shallow bay, popular with families, dog walkers and cyclists following the traffic-free coastal route that runs the length of Conwy's shoreline.

The village centre, set just back from the sea, has a relaxed parade of independent cafes, tearooms and small shops along Penrhyn Avenue and Rhos Road. On the seafront itself, the tiny medieval chapel of St Trillo, said to be the smallest church in Britain with seating for only six worshippers, is built around a holy well and is one of the most photographed spots on the coast.

At the western end of the promenade, the harbour arm and slipway are used by local sailing and watersports clubs, while the views across Colwyn Bay stretch out towards the Little Orme. With its calm pace, level walking and easy rail and bus connections, Rhos-on-Sea is a popular stop on a day out along the North Wales coast.
