About Rhyl Beach
Rhyl Beach is a wide, sandy stretch of coast running for several miles along the seafront of the traditional resort town of Rhyl in Denbighshire. The clean sands slope gently to the Irish Sea, and at low tide the beach opens out into an enormous flat expanse popular for kite flying, sandcastle building and long shoreline walks.
The beach is backed by a modern promenade with cafes, amusement arcades and family attractions, including the SC2 waterpark and the Events Arena. Landmarks along the seafront include the Sky Tower viewing platform and the brightly painted harbour bridge at the western end, where the River Clwyd meets the sea.
With donkey rides in summer, easy access from the town centre and a regular train service into Rhyl station just a short walk away, the beach remains one of the best known family seaside destinations in North Wales. On clear days the views stretch east towards Prestatyn and west to the headlands of the Little and Great Ormes.
