About Windsor & Eton Brewery
Windsor & Eton Brewery is an independent craft brewery founded in 2010, set in a converted industrial unit on the Vansittart Estate just a few minutes' walk from Windsor town centre and the Castle. It was established by four ex-Courage brewers determined to bring brewing back to a town that had been without its own brewery for over eighty years, and it has since built a strong reputation for cask ales such as Guardsman, Knight of the Garter and the popular Conqueror black IPA.
Visitors can join guided brewery tours that take in the mash tuns, fermenting vessels and bottling line, with the brewing team explaining the process from grain to glass. Tours typically end with a generous tutored tasting of the core range and seasonal specials. The on-site Taproom serves fresh beer straight from the brewery alongside street food, and hosts regular meet-the-brewer evenings and live music.
The brewery has a royal connection too, having produced commemorative ales for jubilees and royal weddings using hops grown in the gardens of Buckingham Palace. It makes a relaxed, characterful stop for anyone combining a visit to Windsor Castle, the Long Walk or a riverside stroll along the Thames towards Eton.
