About South Hill Park

South Hill Park is an elegant Grade II listed Georgian mansion on the southern edge of Bracknell, set within around thirty acres of landscaped grounds, lakes and woodland. Built in the 1760s and later extended by Victorian owners, the house was acquired by the local council in the 1960s and has since become one of Berkshire's leading arts centres.

The mansion houses two theatres, a cinema, gallery spaces, rehearsal studios and craft workshops, with a year-round programme of drama, music, comedy, dance and family shows. The Cellar Bar hosts live jazz and folk, while the Atrium Café and Mansion Bar serve food and drink in restored period rooms. Outside, the grounds are free to wander, with formal lawns close to the house giving way to a chain of ornamental lakes, a sculpture trail and quieter wooded paths.

Surrounded by the wider South Hill Park estate and close to Bracknell town centre, it works equally well as a cultural night out, a family afternoon walk, or a peaceful stop for coffee and a stroll around the water.
