About Langley
Langley is a suburban village just east of Slough in Berkshire, set between the M4, the Great Western main line and the open expanse of Langley Park. Despite its modern growth as a commuter community, the heart of the old village retains its parish church of St Mary the Virgin, parts of which date to the 12th century and which is notable for the rare Kederminster Library, a richly decorated 17th-century book room attached to the church.
The main attraction for visitors is Langley Park itself, a Grade II listed Capability Brown landscape now managed as a country park by Buckinghamshire Council. Its 130 hectares of woodland, lawns, lakes and rhododendron gardens are crossed by surfaced paths suitable for families, walkers and cyclists, and the park adjoins Black Park to the north to form a much larger area of accessible greenspace on the edge of the capital.
Langley railway station, on the Elizabeth Line, gives quick connections into central London, Reading and Heathrow, making the village a convenient stop for travellers wanting a green break between flights or city visits. Local pubs, the Langley Memorial Ground and easy access to the Jubilee River footpath complete the picture.
