About Littlestone-on-Sea

Littlestone-on-Sea is a small, traditional seaside resort on the Romney Marsh peninsula, developed as a holiday destination in the late Victorian era. The resort features a long shingle beach, a promenade with beach huts, and the 18-hole Littlestone Golf Club, which was established in 1888 and remains one of the oldest courses in Kent. The village retains a quiet, low-key character typical of early 20th-century English coastal communities, with period architecture alongside modern holiday facilities.

The beach is backed by the Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club and various seafront buildings, some dating from the resort's original development. Littlestone offers straightforward seaside activities: swimming and paddling from the beach, walking the promenade, and exploring the quiet streets lined with Victorian villas. The nearby Littlestone Lifeboat Station is active and visible from the shore. For those interested in railway heritage, the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway passes nearby, and Littlestone Station itself is on the scenic Hastings to Ashford branch line.
