Leysdown Beach

Leysdown Beach stretches along the eastern shore of the Isle of Sheppey, offering views across the Thames estuary and the Kent coast. The beach is predominantly shingle, backed by a low sea wall and holiday chalets typical of the island's seaside character. It is a straightforward, unpretentious place popular with families, dog walkers, and anglers.

Visitors come to walk the shoreline, fish from the beach, and watch the shipping traffic moving along the estuary. On clear days you can see across to Essex. The beach has basic facilities including a car park, public conveniences, and a handful of cafes and fish-and-chip shops nearby. It is a good point to start a coastal walk or simply to spend time by the water without the crowds of more built-up seaside towns.
