Titanic Belfast museum

Titanic Belfast is one of the world's leading visitor attractions, set on the slipways of the former Harland & Wolff shipyard where RMS Titanic was designed, built and launched in 1911. The striking aluminium-clad building, with four angular hulls echoing the prow of a ship, has become an icon of the regenerated Titanic Quarter and a landmark on the Belfast skyline.

Inside, nine interpretive galleries take visitors through the full story: the boomtown Belfast of the early twentieth century, the construction of the great Olympic-class liners, the fitting out and launch of Titanic, her maiden voyage, the sinking on 15 April 1912, the inquiries that followed, and the discovery of the wreck on the seabed in 1985. A ride through a recreated shipyard, archive film, survivor testimonies and a high-definition exploration of the wreck site bring the story vividly to life.

Outside, visitors can walk along the original slipways where Titanic and her sister Olympic were built, marked out at full scale. The neighbouring SS Nomadic, Titanic's last surviving tender, is included with admission. The whole site sits within easy reach of central Belfast, with the Lagan riverfront, Cathedral Quarter and city centre all a short walk or bus ride away.
