About Flamingo Land Theme Park
Flamingo Land Resort, near the village of Kirby Misperton in North Yorkshire, is one of the UK's largest combined theme park and zoo attractions. Sitting on the edge of the Howardian Hills and within easy reach of the North York Moors, the park has been welcoming visitors since the 1950s and now combines white-knuckle rides, a substantial zoo collection, family-friendly attractions and an on-site holiday village.
The theme park is best known for its big coasters, including the multi-launch Velociraptor and the wing coaster Sik, alongside gentler rides themed around the African savanna, sea adventure and children's areas. Live shows, splash pads and an indoor play zone keep younger visitors busy across a full day.
The zoo is home to more than 140 species, from giraffes, hippos and Sumatran tigers to lemurs, penguins and, naturally, a sizeable flock of flamingos. Walkthrough enclosures and feeding talks make it easy to get close to the animals, and the park is involved in international breeding and conservation programmes. With its lakeside setting and rolling Ryedale countryside backdrop, it makes a popular day out from York, Scarborough and Malton.
