Anchorsholme Park

Anchorsholme Park sits on the Fylde coast between the northern edge of Blackpool and the seaside town of Cleveleys, a short walk inland from the promenade. The park was substantially remodelled and reopened in the late 2010s after major flood-defence works along the seafront, which included new storm-water tanks built beneath the lawns. The result is a tidy, modern open space with broad grass areas, perimeter paths, a skate park, multi-use games area, tennis courts and a generous children's playground.

The park is a popular stop for families on the Blackpool tramway, which runs along the coast just to the west and links Anchorsholme with Fleetwood in one direction and Blackpool's piers and tower in the other. From the seaward edge of the park it is only a few steps onto the promenade, with its sea wall artworks, views across Morecambe Bay to the Lake District hills, and the long flat cycle route towards Rossall Point.

Anchorsholme makes a quieter alternative to the busier central Blackpool greens, useful for picnics, dog walks and letting children burn off energy between coastal adventures.
