Turf Moor, Burnley

Turf Moor has been the home of Burnley Football Club since 1883, making it one of the oldest continuously used senior football grounds in the world. The stadium sits on Harry Potts Way, named after the manager who led Burnley to the League Championship in 1959–60, and is a short walk from Burnley town centre.

The ground holds around 21,500 spectators across four stands: the James Hargreaves Stand, the Jimmy McIlroy Stand, the Bob Lord Stand and the Cricket Field Stand. The last of these gets its name from Burnley Cricket Club, whose ground still sits immediately behind, so on some summer days you can see the two sports being played back to back.

On matchdays the streets around Turf Moor fill with claret-and-blue shirts and the traditional pre-match pubs come to life. Outside the football season, the club runs stadium tours covering the dressing rooms, tunnel, dugouts and trophy room, giving a sense of a club that has played in the top flight for much of its history and won two league titles.
