Turf Moor

Turf Moor has been the home of Burnley Football Club since 1883, making it one of the longest continuously used senior football grounds in the world. It sits on Harry Potts Way, just east of the town centre, wedged between terraced streets and the cricket ground next door, giving matchdays the tightly packed, traditional feel that has largely disappeared from modern English football.

The stadium holds around 21,900 spectators across four stands: the Jimmy McIlroy Stand, the James Hargreaves Stand, the Bob Lord Stand and the Cricket Field Stand, each named for figures central to the club's history. Statues of former manager Harry Potts and 1959–60 title-winning captain Jimmy Adamson stand outside, alongside a memorial to supporters. The club shop and ticket office are located at the ground and open on non-matchdays.

Burnley's history at Turf Moor includes a First Division title in 1920–21 and another in 1959–60, an FA Cup win in 1914, and more recent spells in the Premier League. Stadium tours are run periodically and take in the dressing rooms, tunnel, dugouts and directors' box, giving a close-up view of a ground whose scale and setting still reflect the club's small-town Lancashire roots.
