William Caxton, Tenterden

The William Caxton is a traditional pub on Tenterden's High Street, named in honour of the man widely credited with introducing the printing press to England in 1476. Caxton is traditionally said to have been born in the Weald of Kent, with Tenterden claimed as one of the likely locations, and the town has long taken pride in the connection.
