About The Pilgrims Coffee House, Holy Island

Pilgrims Coffee House sits in the heart of Holy Island village, a short walk from the Priory ruins and the Lindisfarne Heritage Centre. It's a family-run café known chiefly for roasting its own coffee on site in a wood-fired drum roaster housed in the garden, using beans sourced from small growers. Beans are also sold by the bag to take away.

Inside, you'll find a compact, informal café with a menu of coffee, loose-leaf teas, cakes and lunches such as soups, toasties and salads. The walled garden at the back is the main draw in fair weather, sheltered from the North Sea wind and a welcome stop after crossing the tidal causeway.

Because Holy Island is cut off by the tide twice a day, most visitors time a stop here around the safe crossing windows. Check the published tide times before setting off; the café's opening tends to follow the pattern of island visitors rather than fixed all-day hours.
