Linear Park

Linear Park is a long, narrow stretch of green that runs along the waterfront in Cobh, County Cork, following the curve of the harbour from the town centre out towards the railway line and the deep-water quays. The park provides a pleasant, flat walking and cycling route with uninterrupted views across one of the largest natural harbours in the world, looking out to Spike Island, Haulbowline and the open mouth of Cork Harbour beyond.

The path is paved and accessible, with benches set at intervals so that visitors can sit and watch the steady traffic of yachts, ferries, naval vessels and the occasional cruise liner that still calls at Cobh's deepwater berth. Information boards along the way pick out the town's strong maritime heritage, including its long association with transatlantic liners and as the final port of call of the Titanic in April 1912.

For visitors, the park makes an easy add-on to a day exploring Cobh's colourful terraced streets, the Titanic Experience and St Colman's Cathedral. It connects naturally to the promenade and is a quiet alternative to the busier town centre.
