Rosslare Strand

Rosslare Strand is a long, gently shelving sandy beach on the south-east coast of County Wexford, stretching for several miles between Rosslare village and the dune systems running north towards Raven Point. The beach has held Blue Flag status in many recent seasons, reflecting good water quality and the safe, family-friendly conditions that have made it one of the most popular seaside spots in Ireland's so-called Sunny South East.

The strand is backed by low dunes and marram grass, with views east across the Irish Sea and, on clearer days, glimpses of the Tuskar Rock Lighthouse offshore. The firm sand is ideal for long walks, jogging and beach games, while sheltered sections are popular with families and bathers. The wider area attracts windsurfers, kite surfers and sea anglers, and the village itself offers cafes, hotels, a golf course and the iconic St Helen's Bay links nearby.

Rosslare Strand is easily reached from Rosslare Strand railway station on the Dublin to Rosslare Europort line, making it an accessible day-trip destination by public transport. Visitors can combine a beach day with a walk on the Raven Nature Reserve, a coniferous dune forest a few miles north that is rich in birdlife.
