About Kentish Lady River Boat

The Kentish Lady is a traditional river cruiser offering relaxed sightseeing trips along the River Medway from her mooring at the Undercliff in Maidstone town centre, close to the Archbishop's Palace and All Saints Church. The boat operates a regular timetable of public cruises through the warmer months as well as private charters, lunch trips and themed evening sailings.

A typical round trip heads upstream past Lockmeadow and on towards Allington Lock, taking around 90 minutes and passing through gentle Kentish countryside, wooded riverbanks and the occasional grazing meadow. Onboard commentary points out landmarks along the way, and there is a licensed bar, refreshments and both covered and open-air seating, making the cruise comfortable in most weathers.

For visitors arriving by train, Maidstone East and Maidstone West stations are both within easy walking distance of the boarding point. The Kentish Lady is a long-established part of the town's riverside scene and offers an unhurried way to see a quieter side of Kent away from the high street.
