Guinness Storehouse

The Guinness Storehouse is Dublin's most visited tourist attraction, occupying a seven storey former fermentation plant at the heart of the St James's Gate Brewery. The building is shaped like a giant pint glass that rises up through the centre of the structure, and each floor takes visitors through a different stage of the story of Guinness, from its raw ingredients of water, barley, hops and yeast to the global brand it has become.

Self guided exhibits explore the brewing process, the history of Arthur Guinness and his 9,000 year lease, and the cooperage that once produced thousands of wooden casks. Further galleries celebrate the company's iconic advertising, from the toucan and the harp to the seal balancing a pint on its nose, and there are tasting rooms, a stout academy where visitors can learn to pour the perfect pint, and a restaurant and shop.

The visit culminates in the Gravity Bar, a circular glass walled lounge at the top of the building offering a complimentary pint and 360 degree views across Dublin, taking in the Wicklow Mountains, the Liffey, the Phoenix Park and the city's spires and rooftops.
