Highdown Hill

Highdown Hill rises to 97 metres and provides one of the finest panoramic viewpoints in the area, overlooking Worthing and the Sussex coastline to the south whilst offering views across the South Downs to the north. The downland is characterised by short chalk grassland supporting a rich variety of wildflowers, insects, and birds, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Several walking routes converge at the summit, connecting Worthing, Durrington, and the surrounding villages. The hill's accessible pathways make it suitable for families and casual walkers, whilst the views reward those who make the climb. The site is particularly attractive in late spring and summer when the chalk grassland blooms with orchids and other downland specialists.
