About Esplanade Fish Bar

The Esplanade Fish Bar is a popular seafront chip shop on the Esplanade at Seaton, on the East Devon coast. Looking straight out across the pebble beach and Lyme Bay, it is the kind of traditional family-run chippy that has been part of seaside holidays for generations, serving freshly battered fish, hand-cut chips, mushy peas and curry sauce to a steady stream of beachgoers, walkers and day-trippers.

The menu sticks to what it does best: cod, haddock and plaice in crisp batter, alongside sausages, pies, scampi and a few daily specials when the local boats land something interesting. There is a small seating area inside, but most visitors take their parcels across the road to eat on the seafront benches or on the beach itself, where the views stretch towards the white cliffs of Beer Head to the west and the red sandstone of Seaton Hole to the east.

The fish bar is a handy stop on the South West Coast Path and an easy walk from the Seaton Tramway terminus and the Jurassic Coast visitor centre, making it a favourite refuelling point before or after a day exploring the coast.
