About Brighton i360, Brighton
Brighton i360 is a contemporary addition to the city's skyline, a striking vertical structure designed by the architects behind the London Eye. The observation tower stands 162 metres tall and features a unique rotating observation pod that rises and descends within a transparent external column, providing visitors with unobstructed 360-degree views in all directions. On clear days, the vistas extend across the South Downs to the north, inland towards the Sussex countryside, and outward across the English Channel to the south and west.
The experience takes approximately 23 minutes for a full rotation, allowing visitors ample time to absorb the panoramic landscape, spot landmarks, and understand Brighton's geographic context within the wider region. The pod is fully enclosed and climate-controlled, making it accessible in all weather conditions. The tower also houses a café and bar at ground level, adding to its appeal as both a visitor attraction and a social venue for locals seeking refreshment and elevated views.
Opened in 2016, Brighton i360 represents a significant investment in the city's leisure infrastructure and has quickly become one of its most popular paid attractions. Located on the seafront near the remains of the West Pier, it offers an ideal complement to other coastal walks and heritage sites. The attraction appeals to visitors of all ages and abilities, making it a family-friendly destination that provides a novel perspective on Brighton and its surroundings.
