About this walk
This short linear route sets out from the village of Llandegla, close to the well-known One Planet Adventure centre on the edge of the Clwydian Range foothills. With only a modest 55 metres of ascent spread across 4.3 kilometres, it makes for a relaxed hour on foot and a gentle introduction to the woods and water-filled hollows that characterise this corner of Denbighshire.
From the start in Llandegla the path links up with quiet lanes and tracks near Llanarmon Road, drawing you past a sequence of small but characterful features. A bird hide offers a chance to pause and look out over the water, while Pendinas Reservoir and Nant-y-Ffrith Reservoir lie within easy reach, their still surfaces reflecting the surrounding trees. Steddfod Pool adds another quiet stop along the way.
The route finishes back in Llandegla, so it works well either as a standalone wander or as a connecting leg to longer trails radiating from the village. Underfoot conditions are straightforward, and the gentle gradients suit walkers of most abilities.
