About this walk
This short but steady circular walk climbs out of Bro Machno into the quiet, wooded valley of Cwm Wybrnant, one of the most secluded corners of the Conwy uplands. Setting off from the village, the route gains height quickly, rewarding the effort with tranquil views over the stream and surrounding hillsides.
The path leads you deep into the cwm to Tŷ Mawr Wybrnant, a remote stone farmhouse tucked in the folds of the valley and now cared for by the National Trust. After a pause to take in the setting, the trail loops back through pasture and woodland to return you to Bro Machno.
At just 2.3 km with 188 m of ascent, it is a compact outing, but the gradients are honest and the surroundings feel wonderfully remote. Allow around 45 minutes at a steady pace, longer if you plan to visit the house.
