About this walk
The Dramway offers an easy, level-going ramble of just under four kilometres through the former industrial landscape of South Gloucestershire, following the line of an old tramway route out of Warmley. Starting near the United Reformed Church, the path heads out towards North Common, passing a quiet Remembrance Garden along the way.
One of the highlights is the preserved Warmley Signal Box, a reminder of the area's railway heritage, and further along the route walkers pass a young oak sapling planted beside the trail. The going is straightforward throughout, with only around 60 metres of ascent spread over the whole walk, making it a comfortable outing of about an hour.
The walk sits within easy reach of several green spaces worth extending the day for, including Warmley Forest Park and the wooded slopes of Willsbridge Valley Local Nature Reserve. The nearby hamlets of Saint Anne's and Hollybush add a rural note to what is otherwise a very accessible, semi-suburban trail on the edge of the Bristol fringe.
