About this walk

This gentle circular route through Runnymede takes in some of the meadow's most evocative landmarks, starting near the Magna Carta Monument before climbing gently onto Cooper's Hill Slopes for wider views across the Thames floodplain. The path winds down to Langham's Pond, a quiet wetland tucked into the meadows, before passing St Mary's Priory.

From here the route follows the River Roads back through the meadows, with the option to pause at the Magna Carta Tea Room at Runnymede for refreshments. The final stretch brings you to the Kennedy Memorial, set into the hillside on ground gifted to the United States, before returning to your starting point.

At just 4 km with only modest ascent, this is an easy hour's walking that packs in an unusual concentration of monuments, meadow and woodland. Nearby you'll also find the Air Forces Memorial on Coopers Hill and, across the river, the ancient Ankerwycke Yew, both worth extending the day for.
