About this walk
This short link path forms part of the Stevenage Outer Orbital Path (STOOP), a waymarked network of trails that loops around the edges of Stevenage and connects the town to the surrounding Hertfordshire countryside. Link Path 6 is a compact 2.2 km spur, starting and finishing at Langley, making it a straightforward there-and-back stroll of around half an hour.
The route rises gently, gaining just under 60 metres of ascent as it threads through the quiet lanes and field edges characteristic of this corner of Hertfordshire. Along the way you pass close to East Hall, one of the small rural landmarks tucked away in the countryside east of Stevenage. The walking is easy underfoot and well suited to those looking for a quick leg-stretch rather than a full day out.
Because the path is linear and short, it works well as an add-on to the wider STOOP circuit or as a gentle introduction to the network for families and casual walkers exploring the villages and hamlets on Stevenage's rural fringe.
