About this walk
This linear stage of the Scenic Green Trail sets off from the village of Loose, climbing gently away from the houses before dropping into the wooded folds of the Loose Valley. The path passes the Tovil Scouts Chapel and Loose Boy Scouts buildings, with the Loose Stream threading quietly through the valley floor below.
Beyond the valley, the route rises towards All Saints church and pauses within easy reach of The Bull Inn, a handy spot to break the walk. From here the trail continues across the Kentish countryside towards St Peters and on into Boughton Monchelsea, with views opening out across the Weald. Linton Park lies off to the side, while Little London Reservoir sits a short distance away for those tempted by a detour.
The walk finishes in Boughton Monchelsea, where The Curious Eatery and The Cock Inn offer a welcome end-of-walk reward. At 9.7 km with around 243 m of ascent, it makes for a steady half-day outing through some of mid-Kent's quietest lanes, woods and field paths.
