About this walk
Rowan's Walk is a short, easy circular of around 2.6 km on the western edge of Cambridge, threading through the open fields and paths of Coton Countryside Reserve. With just 19 metres of ascent, it makes an ideal half-hour leg-stretch or a gentle introduction to the countryside beyond the city.
From the reserve, the route passes the Jubilee Orchard, a peaceful spot planted with fruit trees that draws pollinators and birdlife through the seasons. The path then rolls on towards The Plough, a village pub well placed for a pause before completing the loop back to your starting point.
Close by, it is worth taking a few extra minutes to wander into Coton itself to see the village sign and the parish church of Saint Peter, both quiet reminders of the settlement's long-standing character on the edge of the Cambridgeshire fields.
