About this walk
This 4.3 km circular in Denbighshire offers a steady mix of climbs and easy forest paths, with around 226 m of ascent packed into roughly an hour and a quarter of walking. The route loops past Pendinas Reservoir, where still water sits framed by conifer plantation, and continues through the woodland network around One Planet Adventure.
From the trailhead the path winds gently before rising through the trees, opening occasionally to glimpses of the reservoir below. The One Planet Adventure hub is a useful waypoint and a good place to orient yourself, with mountain bike trails crossing the area, so keep an eye out for cyclists where paths meet.
Short detours add to the day: a nearby bird hide gives a quiet spot to pause and watch the water, and the Llandegla Fishery Cafe is well placed for a drink or a bite at the end. The circular shape means you finish back where you started, with a satisfying amount of climb behind you.
