About this walk

This 8.4 km circular walk sets out from the historic village of Haworth, threading through the West Yorkshire countryside made famous by the classic film adaptation of E. Nesbit's novel. From the cobbled main street near the Old White Lion and The Fleece, the route drops down past Haworth War Memorial and the Mill Hey Brew House towards Bridgehouse Beck, where the valley opens out below the moors.

The path climbs steadily out of the valley and rolls through farmland, passing Our Lady of Lourdes on the approach to Oakworth. From here you cross open pasture by Ives Bottom Farm and up to Marsh Top, gaining fine views across the surrounding hills before descending via Hole Farm back into Haworth.

With around 228 metres of ascent spread over 5.3 miles, it is a moderate outing of roughly two and a quarter hours. Detours to Oxenhope Millennium Green, Hoyle Syke or The Old Sun Inn make easy extensions, while the West Lane Baptists Centre marks your return to the village top.
