About this walk
Starting from the village of Marloes and St. Brides, this linear route heads west across the Pembrokeshire farmland before joining one of the finest stretches of the Wales Coast Path. The trail sweeps out along the Marloes Peninsula, with the Atlantic on one side and rolling pasture on the other, offering long views over St Brides Bay and the offshore islands.
The path leads to Coastwatch NCI Wooltack Point at the tip of the headland, a superb vantage point looking across Jack Sound to Skomer Island. From here the route drops down to Martin's Haven, the tiny cove that serves as the departure point for Skomer boat trips. A short climb inland brings you to the Runwayskiln Café, a welcome stop near the end of the walk.
Just off the route lies Marloes Mere, a shallow wetland known for its birdlife and easily added as a short detour. With around 383 m of ascent spread over 9.5 km, the walk is moderate in effort but consistently rewarding underfoot.
