About this walk

The Jubilee Path is a short but rewarding circular walk climbing above the coastal town of Penmaenmawr on the northern edge of Snowdonia. Despite covering just over two kilometres, the route packs in more than 300 metres of ascent, so expect a steady pull uphill before the reward of sweeping views over the Conwy coastline and the Menai Strait.

Starting and finishing in Penmaenmawr itself, the path traces a scenic contour around the flanks of Foel Lus, the rounded hill that rises immediately behind the town. The route also passes close to the crags of Craig Hafodwen, where the landscape opens out to reveal the meeting of mountain and sea that defines this stretch of North Wales.

At around an hour in length, it makes an ideal leg-stretcher for travellers arriving by train, with the station in Penmaenmawr sitting within easy reach of the trailhead. On a clear day the views extend along the coast towards Anglesey and the Great Orme, making it well worth pausing at the higher points before descending back into town.
