About this walk
This 4.9 km circular route sets off from One Planet Adventure on the edge of Llandegla Forest, climbing steadily through mixed woodland and open clearings. With around 255 m of ascent packed into just over three miles, it offers a satisfying workout without committing you to a full day on the hills.
The trail loops out to a midway point near Llandegla village before turning back through the forest. Along the way you can pause at the bird hide, a quiet spot to watch for woodland and wetland species, and take in the calm waters of Pendinas Reservoir. The going underfoot is firm but undulating, with a mix of forest tracks and narrower paths.
Back at the trailhead, the Llandegla Fishery Cafe is well placed for a hot drink or a proper meal once your boots are off. Allow around an hour and a half at a steady pace, a little longer if you stop to enjoy the views.
