About this walk
This easy linear walk begins in the village of Illogan and heads out through a quiet copse, where the path softens underfoot and the sounds of the road fall away. Mature oak trees line the way as you drop gently down into Tehidy Wood, one of the largest areas of woodland in west Cornwall and a much-loved local retreat.
Winding through Tehidy, the route passes beneath a broadleaf canopy alive with birdsong before threading down to Coombe. With around 110 metres of ascent spread over just 3.6 km, the going stays comfortable throughout, making this a good choice for a relaxed hour outdoors.
Tehidy Woods Cafe sits close to the trail and makes an easy stop for a drink or a bite before you turn for home. As a linear route, you can either retrace your steps or plan onward travel from Coombe.
