Hull Fish Trail

This easy 3.2 km loop through the heart of Kingston upon Hull follows the well-loved Fish Trail, a series of pavement sculptures that guide you between the city's most characterful corners. Starting near The White Horse, the route winds through the Old Town and along the curiously named Land of Green Ginger before opening out at Beverley Gate, where the medieval town walls once stood.

From here you pass the statue of Queen Victoria and the equestrian King Billy, honouring William of Orange (William III), before threading between independent haunts like KINGS, Thieving Harry's, Nibble and TRUELOVE. The route drops down to the waterfront at Victoria Pier, with wide views across the Humber, before curving back through the cobbled lanes of the Old Town.

Along the way you're never far from other landmarks worth a detour, including the old North Bridge, the site of Hull Castle, the Cenotaph, the Rugby Tavern and the Dram Shop. At roughly 45 minutes of walking, it's an ideal short outing that packs in a remarkable amount of Hull's maritime and civic story.
