This gentle circular walk from the small Norfolk village of Hoe makes a fine short outing, weaving out from the village and across the open ground of Hoe Rough before looping back. At under two miles, with only modest ascent, it suits an easy morning stroll or a leg-stretch after a longer drive.
From the start in Hoe, the route heads out onto Hoe Rough, an area of Open Access Land where you can wander freely across rough grassland and scrub. This kind of unimproved heath and meadow is increasingly rare in lowland Norfolk, and the quiet paths offer a real sense of countryside within a very short distance of the village. The way then loops back through Hoe itself.
