About this walk
This short loop through Hebden Bridge offers a gentle introduction to one of West Yorkshire's most characterful Pennine towns. Starting near the Remembrance Memorial, the route winds past The Railway and on towards The Hidden Hebden, taking in the narrow streets and stone-built corners that give the town its distinctive feel.
From there you continue past The Pennine Club and the White Lion Hotel, with a chance to pause for a drink along the way. The walk is easy underfoot and well suited to a relaxed afternoon, with plenty to look at as you pass between pubs, side streets and small landmarks tucked into the valley.
Nearby you can extend your wander up towards Birchcliffe and the Birchcliffe War Memorial, or call in at Vocation if you fancy something local. At just 2.3 km with a modest 99 m of ascent, the loop packs a lot into 45 minutes and works well as a stretch of the legs after stepping off the train.
