Gwinear-Gwithian BR 49

This gentle linear walk of just under four kilometres links the quiet lanes and field paths of west Cornwall, setting off near Genesis Farm and heading through rolling farmland towards the village of Barripper. With only around 42 metres of ascent spread across the route, it makes for an easy hour on foot, well suited to an afternoon stroll or a leg-stretch between other plans.

The path threads through classic Cornish countryside, with hedged fields, working farms and glimpses of the open ground of Gwinear Downs off to one side. Gear Farm lies within easy reach, and the surrounding lanes carry the unhurried character typical of this corner of the county, tucked between the busier coasts to the north and south.

At the finish in Barripper, walkers are within striking distance of The Pendarves Inn for a well-earned pause. A short detour or a return via nearby Leedstown brings you close to the Duke of Leeds and the Leedstown United Methodist Church, both handy landmarks for orienting yourself in this quietly rewarding pocket of inland Cornwall.
