About this walk
This easy circular walk starts and finishes in the village of Sevenoaks Weald, tucked into the folds of countryside just south of Sevenoaks. At only 2.8 km with a modest 55 m of ascent, it is well suited to families and shorter legs, with plenty to keep everyone interested along the way.
From the village the route heads out into open Kent countryside, passing close to the Duck Pond and skirting the edge of Knole Park, the vast historic deer park where fallow and sika deer graze beneath ancient trees. You will also pass near the oak said to have inspired the Beatles' Strawberry Fields Forever, and enjoy long views out towards River Hill and across the Weald.
The path loops back through quiet lanes and field edges to Sevenoaks Weald, with The Masthead a handy landmark en route. Allow around 45 minutes at a steady pace, or longer if you want to linger by the pond, spot deer or simply take in the wide Wealden views.
