About this walk
This gentle circular walk of just under four kilometres loops through the estate and surrounding countryside of Greys Court, one of the National Trust's tucked-away properties in the Chilterns of south Oxfordshire. Starting near the house, the route passes the tranquil White Garden and the estate's celebrated Maze before heading out into open farmland.
From the hamlet of Broadplat, the path threads between hedgerows and woodland, taking in Famous Copse and Pissen Wood as it rolls gently across the rural landscape. With only around 114 metres of ascent spread over the loop, the gradients are easy going, and the mixture of parkland, garden and quiet Chiltern countryside makes for varied walking within a short distance.
The return leg brings you back through the estate to finish at the Rose Garden, a fine place to pause before exploring the wider grounds. Nearby Earl's Wood and Greys Green are both worth a short detour if you have time to extend your visit.
