About this walk
Starting in the village of Eckington, this easy circular walk sets off past the Eckington Memorial before heading out through open Worcestershire farmland towards the River Avon. The route is gentle throughout, with only around 47 metres of ascent spread across its 5.7 kilometres, making it a comfortable outing of a little over an hour.
The high point of the walk is Eckington Wharf Picnic Place, a peaceful spot beside the Avon that makes an ideal pause for a break or a flask of tea. From here the path loops back inland, skirting North Covert before returning across quiet fields towards the village. Along the way there are wide views over the river valley and the low ridges that characterise this corner of the county.
Nearby, walkers can extend their visit to take in Strensham Lock, South Covert and Bow Brook, or return to the village for the parish church of St. John the Baptist and a welcome stop at The Railway Inn.
