About this walk

Beginning near Attingham Hall, this gentle circular loop through the Attingham Park estate takes in mature parkland, ancient trees and quiet woodland corners rarely seen on shorter visits. From the mansion the route heads out along Acacia Avenue, a stately tree-lined approach, before drawing you deeper into the estate past Robert's Plantation and the open ground at Timmis Piece.

The path curves through Pigpen Wood and up to The Berwick Memorial, a landmark commemorating the family who once owned Attingham. From here you enter Repton's Wood and pick up the Repton Ramble, named for the landscape designer whose influence still shapes the park's careful arrangement of clearings, vistas and planted copses.

Deer graze across the surrounding pasture throughout much of the year, and side paths lead off towards points of interest such as Big Egg, Little Egg, New Plantation, Bessie's Pit and The Brick Hole. The gradients are modest, the surfaces well maintained, and the loop closes back at Attingham Hall in around an hour.
