About this walk

Cosan Cuas na nEighe is a short circular walk on the County Kerry coast, beginning and ending at Cloichear. In under an hour it takes in a fine stretch of cliff and shore, with just 81 metres of ascent to earn the views.

From the trailhead the path drops towards Tráigh Chloichir, the pebbly strand below Cloichear, before rising through the small fields of Gort na mBó. The route then traces the cliff edge past Faill Buí, the yellow-tinged headland, and reaches the sea inlet of Cuas na Nae, a natural cleft in the rock where the Atlantic surges in.

Nearby you can extend your visit to Faill na Saor and Bun an tSrutha, where a small stream meets the sea, or wander the old ground of Seantalamh above the shore. It is a compact loop, but one that packs in beach, cliff, pasture and a real sense of the Kerry seaboard.
