About this walk

This short linear stroll offers a gentle introduction to Clumber Park, one of Nottinghamshire's most-loved National Trust estates. Starting near the Central Bark Dog Cafe, the path leads through Gas House Wood and past the Clumber Park Dog Paddock, an ideal spot if you have a four-legged companion in tow.

From there the route continues under the trees of Ash Tree Hill Wood before opening out into the Pleasure Grounds, the ornamental heart of the estate. The reward comes as you reach the shore of Clumber Lake, a long serpentine water framed by mature parkland trees, before finishing at the National Trust Cafe.

With just 42 metres of ascent over 2.3 kilometres, it is an easy half-hour walk suited to almost anyone. Nearby you can extend your visit to take in the Pinetum, Boat House Plantation, Icehouse Clump and Icehouse Plantation, or head over to the Leaping Bar for a longer exploration of this historic Sherwood Forest estate.
