About this walk

This gentle 2.2 km stroll links two neighbouring Staffordshire villages, setting off from Cheddleton and finishing at Wetley Rocks. The walk begins near the Old School Tea Rooms, a welcoming spot to fuel up before you head out, and traces a modest climb of around 100 metres as it leaves the village behind.

Along the way you're within easy reach of the Caldon Canal, which threads its quiet way through this corner of the Staffordshire Moorlands, and the parish church of St. Edward the Confessor. Haye Pool sits nearby, adding a touch of water and wildlife to the landscape, while St Andrews Methodist Church marks your approach to Wetley Rocks.

The route ends in the village of Wetley Rocks, where The Black Lion offers a traditional pub finish. At just 45 minutes of walking, it's an ideal short outing, whether you're stringing together a longer day on foot or simply stretching your legs between bus stops.
